Description:
Sarkhej Roza Mosque is one of the oldest and most revered shrines in Gujarat. It was constructed in the 15th century by rulers of the Gujarat sultanate and follows an Indo-Saracenic style of architecture. Sarkhej was an important centre of Sufism and home to influential Sufi saint Shaikh Ahmad Ganj Baksh whose tomb is present within the masjid complex. The mosque is not just a religious centre, it is a fine exmaple of the amalgam of Islamic and Hindu elements of architecture as we get to see many Hindu symbols used in the mosque.
